About Hide and Fox

Hide and Fox is the culmination of Allister and Alice’s careers in award-winning restaurants and hotels. Now the couple return to Allister’s native Kent, to realise their dream of opening a restaurant driven by their love for hospitality.

In a characterful dining space in the heart of Saltwood, we offer creative à la carte and tasting menus as well as a lunch menu. Our commitment to quality extends to our handpicked wines and carefully thought out bar list. Everything is served with the elegant modern touch for which Allister and Alice are known.

About Us

Allister and Alice’s passion for food has taken them on career paths that feature some of the best establishments from Tuscany to Bath, and from Devon to Wales.

In the last 15 years Allister has worked his way from washing pots and opening oysters to head chef at some of the most prestigious properties in England and Wales. Now, his love and passion for cooking bring him back to the ‘garden of England’ for his first own venture.

Alice’s training and experience has brought her across Europe – via some of the continent’s most renowned properties – to the UK, where she has worked with Michelin starred chefs and at award-winning establishments. In 2018 she was named Food and Beverage Manager of the Year for the Hotel Cateys.

Cancellation Policy

We would appreciate if you could give at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your reservation. In the case of a no show or a cancellation within 24 hours we will charge a fee of £40 per person as we won’t be able to resell the table with short notice. No deposit is taken.

Please note: if you have an enquiry go to ‘contact’ page or call us; the comment box above isn’t for enquiries and these will not be responded to.

Children: children are welcome to dine with us at lunchtime only and from the a la carte menu or tasting menu, we would also offer daily choices.

Service Charge: for bookings of 5 or more guests you need to contact the restaurant directly and there will be a 12.5% service charge added to the bill.
