Wine Dinner: South Africa Wines
South African wine has a history dating back to 1659 with Costantia near Cape Town. Traditionally, wine production was focus on local consumption and large quantities. Now, a new wave of winemakers has helped elevate the image of South African wines around the world. Innovative and dynamic winemakers are planting new grape varieties, but also highlighting the traditional ones. From the white grapes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Viognier to black varieties such as Pinotage, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, there is plenty to choose from and to enjoy!
Allister and Alice have designed a menu to match the exciting wine selection and they are thrilled to invite back Paul Robinson from Hallagarten Wines to host this wonderful dinner. We have been working with Hallgarten for many years and believe in their portfolio and passion for wine. Hallgarten is one of the UK’s leading specialist wine distributors.
Established in 1933 it is family owned and has a portfolio of close to 1000 wines from 32 countries. They import blends from the worlds traditional wine producing regions to the more esoteric varieties off the beaten track.
