• Argentina Wine Dinner

    Wednesday 9th October 2024

For one night only, we will enjoy a variety of grapes and wines that Argentina has to offer with a mouthwatering Autumn menu. Argentina is placed at the forefront of the wine industry thanks to its solid foundations. The production of wines in the Country goes back to the 16th century, when the first specimens of Vitis vinifera were brought to America by Spanish colonisers. Catholic priests who cultivated vineyards near their monasteries were important in their propagation, thus ensuring the production of wine to celebrate Holy Mass. During the 19th century, European immigrants introduced new cultivation techniques and other varieties of grapes which found an ideal habitat to grow in the Andes and the Río Colorado Valley. In the 20th century the wine industry underwent important changes that would mark its future course: it went from mass production for domestic consumption, to higher quality, lower volume production.

  • Beaujolais Dinner

    Thursday 21st November 2024

We are excited to explore and share with you the Beaujolais region wines on Beaujolais Nouveau Day! Beaujolais is 34 miles long from north to south and 7 to 9 miles wide and home to nearly 4,000 vineyards which produce twelve officially-designated types of Beaujolais known as AOCs. They include some of the finest and priciest grand crus wines, including Fleurie and Cote de Brouilly. Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked in France on the third Thursday in November. The wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested. It is celebrated in France as the first wine of the season. Beaujolais Nouveau owes its easy drinkability to a winemaking process called carbonic maceration, also known as whole-berry fermentation. This technique preserves the fresh, fruity quality of the grapes without extracting bitter tannins from the grape skins.
